“Virtus” Silver Chalice (Item No. ST 117)
The “Virtus” silver chalice is a precious Baroque-style liturgical vessel made entirely of hand-chiseled silver.
Chiseling is a type of craftsmanship generally performed on precious metals. It involves the plastic deformation of the metal using a chisel while the metal is cold. It produces a relief effect, created through engravings and variations in depth.
This chalice features rich, three-dimensional figurative decoration typical of the Baroque style. The cup is finished in gold, both inside and out, while the base is decorated with laurel garlands and angelic heads.
The globe-shaped handle is decorated with chiseled angelic heads, and the circular base features rich ornamentation with sculpted figures representing the theological virtues.
The silver finish of the decorative friezes gives the glass a refined and elegant style that makes it suitable for canteens of any style, be they classic or modern.
Its elegant sobriety makes it suitable for solemn liturgies.
The “Virtus” chalice is a custom-made piece of high-quality liturgical craftsmanship, handcrafted in Italy for the Maranatha sacred furnishings store—an Italian workshop specializing in liturgical vestments and furnishings where originality, high-quality raw materials, and exceptional craftsmanship come together to create religious articles and custom-tailored pieces of the highest quality.
