Gothic-style Marian chalice (Item 115)
The Gothic-style Marian chalice is made entirely of 925 sterling silver. The chalice’s shape and rich decorations are typical of the Gothic style.
The goblet is richly decorated with floral motifs on the bowl, the base, and the globe-shaped handle.
The distinctive feature of this chalice is its multi-lobed octagonal base, typical of Gothic chalices. The base is decorated with a light blue enameled medallion bearing a Marian symbol. The silver finish makes the medallion stand out against the rest of the sacred liturgical vessel.
The handcrafted repoussé work gives the glass a very opulent look that lends it a sense of grandeur. Its height makes it appear particularly slender.
