Romanesque style fire-enamelled chalice and paten (art.127)

The fire-enamelled chalice and paten stand out for the beauty and brilliance of the colors . In fact, the set has the particularity of being entirely hand-enamelled with the cloisonné fire technique .

Cloisonné is an artistic enamel decoration technique. Thin wires ( watermarks ) or strips or small metal partitions (usually copper ), cells or alveoli (called in French cloisons ) are welded or glued to a support plate of the work to be built.

Subsequently, therefore, in the areas detected by the metal some is poured nail varnish , thus obtaining a sort of mosaic whose tesserae are circumscribed exactly by the metal strips, and this is how the cloisonné technique gives life to real masterpieces.

The enamelled decoration depicts the figures on the cup Twelve Apostles and at the base the symbols of four Evangelists, while the handle and the paten are both decorated with Floreal patterns .

Chalice and paten are in Romanesque style and the enamel decoration stands out on solid 925 silver. Furthermore, the glass is made even more precious by the inside of the cup 24 karat gold.

The coordinated chalice and paten are part of the line Sacred Artesania and is made by the Spanish laboratory of sacred art Molina where craftsmanship and refined goldsmith techniques blend to give life to real jewels of sacred art.
