Enameled chalice and paten (Item 113)
The enameled chalice and paten are a set of sacred vessels that are entirely handmade and crafted from gold-plated silver.
Every part of the chalice and paten is handcrafted by skillfully blending the most ancient medieval goldsmithing traditions with the most sophisticated modern gilding techniques to ensure that they closely resemble the original Gothic sacred vessels.
The outer cup and the multi-lobed base are hand-chiseled with intricate pointed-arch motifs and decorated with cloisonné enamel medallions depicting the twelve Apostles. The globe-shaped handle is also finely chiseled.
The paten, also entirely gold-plated, is a circular plate in the center of which the monogram of Christ, “Jhs,” is engraved in elegant Gothic script.
