Gothic silver pyx (art.122)
The silver gothic pyx is one of the most precious pyxes in our collection, in fact because it is a real sacred artwork .
It is a pyx gothic in solid 925 silver entirely handmade and its uniqueness derives from a meticulous and refined bas-relief .
This elaborate technique was made by master goldsmiths on the surface of the sacred cup and presents different effigies in the various parts that make up the chalice; in fact the four evangelists are represented in the chapels of handle . While the octagonal polylobed base shows a bas-relief of the “Flower of the Passion“, unlike the cup which is adorned with the figures of Christ and gods Twelve Apostles.
The lid of the pyx is also finely worked in bas-relief.
The pyx is a product of the highest quality Artistic craftsmanship and was made by Molina , a leading Spanish company in craftsmanship of sacred vessels in silver, brass and gold .
