Gothic silver chalice (item 875)
The Filirana silver chalice is one of the most precious chalices in our collection because it is a true work of sacred art.
It is a Gothic chalice made of 925 sterling silver, entirely handcrafted, and its uniqueness stems from its meticulous and refined filigree decoration.
This intricate artistic technique was crafted by master goldsmiths based on the Holy Chalice. A refined decoration adorns the multi-lobed octagonal base, giving it the appearance of embroidery on fabric.
The delicacy of the filigree is also evident in the decoration on the globe at the handle and on the bowl.
The richness of the decoration is enhanced by certain parts of the goblet that have been glazed smooth to a glossy finish.
The inside of the cup has a gold finish.
