Gothic chalice with brass medallions (Item 199)
The Gothic chalice with medallions is made entirely of gilded brass. The chalice’s shape and rich decorations are typical of the Gothic style.
The goblet is richly decorated with floral motifs on the bowl and base, while the globe-shaped handle features a smooth, polished finish.
The distinctive feature of this chalice is its multi-lobed octagonal base, typical of Gothic chalices. The base is decorated with embossed medallions depicting the Sacred Heart, Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Saint Joseph. The silver finish makes the medallions stand out against the rest of the sacred liturgical vessel.
The repoussé work gives the glass a very opulent appearance, lending it a sense of grandeur. Its height makes it look particularly slender.
Its all-gold finish makes it very dazzling. Although it is a Gothic-style goblet, its design complements both classic and modern, contemporary dining tables equally well.
The chalice is crafted by Molina, a Spanish religious art company renowned worldwide for the wealth of artisanal techniques preserved by its master goldsmiths. The chalice is part of the Artimetal collection.
