“Evangelists” dictionary cover (art.6081/c)
The “Evangelisti” bond cover is a sacred vestment made of leather and fabric worked on the frame.
The silk cover (or missive cover)is a refined case designed for missal and made of refined smooth green leather. A gold engraved edge frames a fabric and embroidered insert to the frame that embellishes the sacred case. The fabric insert depicts the four polychrome evangelists with golden details and a cruciform embroidery in the center and is made of gobelin, a fabric that imitates tapestries made with a Jacquard frame.
The different warpings and textures of gobelin fabric, of different colors, combined with the possibilities of the Jacquard frame, produce very complex and detailed designs, with possible embossed effects, and give shape to a very flashy fabric, of heavy consistency, resistant to wear.
The lectionary cover, for its simple and refined style, is suitable to cover missals inserted both in classical liturgical contexts and in modern contexts.
