Chiseled Chalice with the 12 Apostles (Item 117)
The “12 Apostles” Chiseled Chalice is a precious Romanesque-style chalice made entirely of solid silver, featuring a very simple and elegant design.
The base and handle are crafted with a smooth relief, while the rest of the chalice is entirely hand-engraved. The base is decorated with acanthus motifs enclosing medallions engraved with the symbols of the four Evangelists. The pommel of the handle is decorated with naturalistic motifs. The chalice features 12 niches in which the full-length figures of the Apostles stand out.
The delicacy of the hand-engraving is accentuated by the cup’s gilded interior.
Although its clean, simple lines evoke the Romanesque style, the glass is very modern and perfectly suited to any setting, whether classic or modern.
Entirely hand-engraved by skilled goldsmiths from the Spanish company Molina, a leading international workshop of master artisans specializing in sacred furnishings made of precious metals.
