Maranatha Lab’s “Disciples” chalice is a refined liturgical vase made in plateresque style
Plateresque is an artistic style that flourished in Spain in the 15th and 16th centuries. Si tratta di uno stile architettonico molto ornato e composto a imitazione dei lavori di argenteria (in spagnolo plata), da cui proviene il nome di plateresco.
The glass, with a slender line, has a cup with a golden glossy finish both internally and externally. The silver-finished undercup is decorated with chiseling engraving of refined floral motifs.
The handle and circular base are finely turned and molded. A refined chisel with natural motifs embellishes them.
Chiseling is a process generally performed on precious metals. It consists in the cold plastic deformation of the metal performed with the chisel. It produces a relief workmanship, made with engravings and changes.
