Gothic reliquary in brass (art.6602)

The Gothic brass reliquary is an accessory for the liturgy made of two-tone brass chiseled by hand.

The reliquary is a container of relics of saints, usually fragments of bones or other parts of the body, or objects belonging to them or fragments of them. The function of the reliquary is the worthy preservation of the relic and, possibly, its exposure to the faithful as an object of veneration. It can have various forms depending on the type of relic it must contain and is generally made of precious metals processed in an artistic way.

This sacred case is made of glossy brass with a two-tone finish. The case that houses the sacred relic has the shape of a Gothic temple supported by twisted columns.

The hexagonal handle is embellished with rich two-tone floral decorations.

Chiseling is a processing that is generally carried out on precious metals and consists of cold plastic deformation of the metal performed with the chisel. It produces a relief workmanship, made with engravings and changes.

The brightness of the two-tone finish makes the monsooning elegant and refined and its delicately classic lines make it sober and particular, therefore it is well suited to Eucharistic canteens inserted in both classic and modern contexts.

This reliquary is a personalized sacred furniture of high liturgical craftsmanship produced in Italy by precious Italian sacred goldsmithing workshops in which originality, quality of raw materials and craftsmanship give life to handmade liturgical furnishings of the highest quality.
