Monsooory “Il-Sorto2” Maranatha Lab (art. 277)
Maranatha Lab’s “Il-Risorto“Monsoorio is a liturgical furniture for Ostia Magna made entirely of two-tone brass.
The monsooer is conceived in a classic style, rich in decorations and symbols, made with the technique of lost wax casting.
The lost wax casting technique is to create a wax model and use it to make it a mold. By drilling two holes on the mold, one at the top and one at the bottom, you let the wax out by heating it and pour molten metal in its place. This is the same model as wax.
The case is permeated by leaping angelic heads and symbols of grapes and ears of wheat. Red stones set in ruby red embellish the ray system.
The handle is imposing as it is made with a statue of the Risen Christ. Instead the base is embellished with symbols of the four evangelists and statues of angels.
Due to its elegance and decorative richness, the monsoory is well suited to both classic and modern liturgical contexts.
