Maranatha Lab’s “Io-Sono” Monsoorium is a liturgical furniture for Ostia Magna made of two-tone brass.
The modern style of the sacred case is expressed in minimal geometries. The large case has a ray system consisting of four rays arranged on a cross and is bordered by two golden brass circumferences, decorated with a three-dimensional workmanship and ruby red enamels.
The handle takes the form of a tree trunk of which the base constitutes the roots. Particular is the degradation of the finish that goes from gold to silver with delicate nuances.
The monsooer is made of lost wax casting.
The lost wax casting technique is to create a wax model and use it to make it a mold. By drilling two holes on the mold, one at the top and one at the bottom, the wax comes out and heats it and pours molten metal in its place. The result is a model identical to that of wax
