Gothic chalice via Crucis (art.6116)
The Gothic chalice via Crucis is a liturgical vase in silver and is one of the most precious chalices in our collection because it is a real sacred artwork .
It’s a gothic style chalice in solid 925 silver entirely handmade and its uniqueness derives from a meticulous and refined bas-relief.
This elaborate technique was made by master goldsmiths on the surface of the sacred cup and on the polylobed heptagonal base.
The decoration of the chalice concerns the representation of the 14 stations of the Way of the cross.
Seven stations are made on the cup while the other seven on the base; the stations are made on silver medallions that stand out against the golden luster of the chalice.
The chalice is entirely decorated with motifs typical of the Gothic style.
The inside of the cup features a gold finish.
