Goblet “Spighe” Maranatha Lab (art. 162/b)
The “Spighe” glass by Maranatha Lab is a precious silver goblet made in Romanesque style.
The Romanesque chalice is characterized by the essentiality of the geometries that make it up. In fact, it consists of a round cup, a spherical globe handle and finally a trunk-conical base.
The chalice has the edge of the cup with a glossy golden finish. The rest of the cup, with a silver finish, is finely chiseled by hand with patterns etched with ears of wheat and bunches of grapes.
Chiseling is a processing that is generally carried out on precious metals and consists of cold plastic deformation of the metal performed with the chisel. It produces a relief workmanship, made with engravings and changes.
A bunch of grapes also decorates the globe handle; the base is hammered and decorated with the engraving of the Chi-Rho monogram.
The chalice, for its sumptuousness and elegance, is well suited to solemn liturgical celebrations and can be counted among the bishop’s goblets.
