The dalmatic “Talita-Kum” by Maranatha Lab is a sacred vestment handmade in a soft mixed fabric of wool and lurex.
The lurex is a particular type of laminated yarn in polyester fiber characterized by high tenacity. This fiber is metallized thanks to aluminum or silver vapors which thus give it greater brilliance and is then dyed. The term lurex refers to both the thread and the fabric obtained with this thread. It can be knitted together with other natural fibers such as cotton, silk, wool.
The dalmatica is elegant and essential in the lines, gold in color, decorated on the two side bands and on the sleeves with a gallon embroidered with cruciform motifs.
The dalmatic is a wide tunic, long up to the knees, used in Dalmatia and then throughout the territory of the Roman Empire from the 2nd century. d. C., decorated along the edges with red bands with motifs of red circles. In Latin liturgy it remained in use as a liturgical garment, wide and open at the sides, with wide and short sleeves and low neckline; it is proper to the deacon, but also worn, under the chasuble or chasuble, by bishops and cardinal priests.
