Chalice “Byzantium” Maranatha Lab (art. 6000)
The “Byzantium” chalice by Maranatha Lab is a precious chalice made in Byzantine style.
The characteristics of Byzantine art are religiosity, anti-plasticity and anti-naturalism, understood as the stylization of figures, aimed at making greater monumentality and supernatural abstraction. In fact, the main taste of Byzantine art was to describe man’s aspirations towards the divine.
The chalice has a richly decorated surface with a fine hand engraving work. It has a smooth finish cup finished internally with a gold bath. The lower half-cup is richly decorated with friezes chisel encling the Christ Pantocrator.
Refined friezes depicting the symbols of the four evangelists also decorate the circular base. The silver finish of the decorative friezes gives the glass a refined and elegant style that makes it suitable for canteens of any style, be they classic or modern.
The knot is embellished with engraving of angelic figures.
