Thin wires ( watermarks<\/strong> ) or strips or small metal partitions (usually copper<\/strong> ), cells or alveoli (called in French cloisons<\/strong> ) are welded or glued to a support plate of the work to be built.<\/p>\n Subsequently, therefore, in the areas detected by the metal some is poured nail varnish<\/strong> , thus obtaining a sort of mosaic whose tesserae are circumscribed exactly by the metal strips, and this is how the cloisonn\u00e9 technique gives life to real masterpieces.<\/strong><\/p>\n The enamelled decoration depicts the figures on the cup Twelve Apostles<\/strong> and at the base the symbols of four Evangelists,<\/strong> while the handle<\/strong> and the paten are both decorated with Floreal patterns<\/strong> .<\/p>\n Chalice and paten are in Romanesque style and the enamel decoration stands out on solid 925 silver.
