Romanesque plate 12 Apostles (art.124 / c)
The dish Romanesque 12 Apostoli is a precious dish for the richness of its engravings.
It is entirely hand-engraved both at the base and at the knot and on the cup and is externally silvered while the internal cup is in gold.
The plate in its different parts is decorated with different themes, in fact the base with a curvilinear profile is chiseled with medallions in which the theological symbols of the four Evangelists: the Lion, symbol of the evangelist Marco , the ox symbol of the evangelist Luca , L’ angel , symbol of the evangelist Matteo and the eagle symbol of the evangelist John .
The greatest minutia of the chiseling is expressed on the cup on which the twelve Apostles are embossed, each framed by a niche.
The plate is in Romanesque style not only for the formal typology of the sacred vase but also for the line of the engravings whose beauty and detail could only be expressed by skilled craftsmen. In fact, the masters of the Spanish company are real jeweler artists Molina who make these precious works of art. The chalice belongs to the collection Sacred Artesania which contains the most precious pieces produced by the Molina artisan workshops in which ancient craft techniques, modern processes and the study of theological symbolisms in tradition find maximum expression Christian.
The dish is available in several variants , or entirely in solid 925 silver , the variant in brass with cup in silver and the brass variant.
